Library update

Dear Parents, 

Assalamu Alaikum

It just seems like yesterday when we were all getting ready to greet the students on the first day of school. Now, June is just around the corner. Time has flown by, subhanAllah!

Please take note that the school library will be closing its student services starting Monday, June 2, 2014. For this reason, we would ask that all the students bring back their library book(s) no later than Friday, May 30, 2014. Please remind your child to bring his or her library book(s) before the deadline.

Math update

Dear Family,

In this unit, your child will be learning more about 2-D geometric figures, symmetry and patterns.

The Learning goals for this unit are to:

1. describe, sort, and compare 2-D figures according to the number of sides and number of vertices (corners)

2. Recognize figures that have symmetry, or matching parts.

3. Make patterns using materials and pictures of 2-D figures

4. Use positional language to describe movement and location: side to the left, turn, above, beside

You can help your child achieve these goals by doing the home connection activities suggested at the bottom of selected pages.

Dear Parents,

Hope all is well. This is a quick reminder to please send recycled items from home with your child. We will start the Math project this Wednesday. In order for the work to be completed, they will need boxes and recycled bottles etc to complete the work in class.
