Classwork, Homework and Reminder

Alsalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a great day alhamdulilah!

Language: Students sat on the carpet, and I read a fable, The Tortoise and the Eagle. They wrote the setting, moral and summary using SWBST in their journals.

Math: Students took turns to come up to the board and answer a division sentence using different strategies (equal groups, repeated subtraction and arrays).

They also completed two division worksheets.

Science: Today we learned more about simple machines. We studied how screws, wheels and axles are useful to us. Students completed a worksheet on the two machines. We also revised all the simple machines we had studied by describing them and talking about how they are useful.

Homework:
  • Math book page 249
  • Fraction worksheet
Reminder:
Traditions worksheet is due tomorrow.

Have a wonderful evening in shaa Allah!

Assalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulilah!

Biography Project: Today Noorah presented her biography project, and masha'Allah she did a great job!

Language: Today we learned that a fable is a short story with a moral, and that most fables have animal characters.
We watched The Boy who Cried Wolf as a class, and as a class we wrote the moral of the story and we summarized it using SWBST.

We also watched The Ant and the Grasshopper, and students wrote the setting, moral and summary of the story independently.

Math: Today we started Division. Students worked in groups to divide fishy crackers equally. We watched a great video on Division. We learned the Division Fact Families, and different strategies to divide.

Students completed pages 242 and 243 in their math books.

Today Tr. Nermin joined us and showed the class caterpillars! She explained how the caterpillars were so small and how the JKs took care of them. She also told us that we would get to go free the butterflies with the JKs! We can't wait!

I hope you all have a great evening!
