Dear Parents, As-Salamu Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
The following is what we will be learning this week insha’Allah:
Math:
- We will be starting a new unit on money, time and temperature this
week.
English:
- We will be learning about coma use in writing.
- We will begin talking about non-fiction books and learning reading
strategies for non-fiction reading.
- We will do some fun activities to learn spelling, “word bingo” and “sock
and chalk”.
Science:
- We will finish our brochures this week insha’Allah and will be
beginning a new unit on simple machines.
- Students are having their end of unit quiz this Monday January 14th, that covers the material from the unit.

Social Studies
- We will continue with Social Studies once the Science unit is completed.
- We will continue with Social Studies once the Science unit is completed.
Art:
- Students will be learning about value and gradation (the use of light
and dark in drawing and painting) for the next 3 art lessons.
Islamic Studies:
- We are almost finished the 5
Pillars of Islam brochures. We will be starting a new unit on Islamic manners
and etiquette.
Health and Physical Education
- Basketball Unit continues - rules
of the game, defense, running while dribbling and playing the game insha’Allah.
I will be assessing skills shortly while students do drills and play game.
