A Message from the School Librarian

Dear Parents,

I would like to offer a big heartfelt thank you to all the parents, students and teachers for their tremendous generosity.
The library made in net sales $3059.04. The total cash commission that stays in the library was for an amount of $917.71. As a result, we've purchased new library material that will benefit each and every student in their quest for learning.
Again, Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your generosity!

Grade 2 A Wish List

As-Salamu Aleikum Parents,

there are a few things that our class would benefit from insha'Allah. So I have made a small wishlist.

- Lysol wipes to wipe door knobs and high traffic areas.
- Magic Erasers for cleaning desk tops

- And a new carpet insha'Allah

Our carpet is quite old and not large enough for all students to sit on comfortably. I have asked around and have found that a suitable carpet may be quite costly ($400-$600) so I will be asking for your help with this purchase. If each parent can contribute a small amount we well be able to get a new carpet. Any amount will help and we can save and continue to raise the funds until we can purchase the carpet. You may send the money with your child or give it to me and I will forward it to Sr. Naida at the office to keep until we have enough at which time I will go and purchase a new carpet insha'Allah. So thank you again for taking the time to read the blog and whether you are able to contribute or not, jazakalakhair for your cooperation with your childs education.

May Allah bless you and your family.
Please feel free to contact me at any time for any questions, concerns, comments, and/or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Teacher A'isha

Parent Teacher Night

Parent Teacher Night

Jazakalakhair to those parents who were able to make it to the parent teacher night.

It was a successful night full of collaboration and ideas to help improve the learning in Grade 2A.

Some of the ideas for improvement include:

- A weekly preview on the blog to let you know what we will be doing during that week.

- Daily emails about what students covered in Math with page numbers for homework.

- Include some interactive links on the blog so students can take a more active role in this area.

- I will create a winter break "activity/study" package for students insha'Allah.

- Greater collaboration with the Grade 2B so both classes can benefit from each other insha'Allah.

- As well I have asked Brother Mustafa our custodian and he agreed to install lower hooks into the children's lockers.

Label your child's winter clothes...

Please take the time to lable your child's winter clothes...
It will make life much easier for your child and for me...
Thank you for your cooperation.
