Last Week's Updates and Reminders

Assalamu Alaikum,

We had a great week alhamdulilah!

Spelling: On Monday, students wrote their spelling quiz on lesson 17 (words ending with LE) and then we completed lesson 18 where we reviewed spelling rules from lessons 13-17.

Reading/Writing: Sr. Hamida read us a wonderful story called "The Day the Crayons Quit". We discussed how each crayon felt and why they quit. Students made connections, and took turns to say how each crayon reminded them of how they felt at times.

The following day each student wrote a letter to a crayon convincing it to not leave, and explaining how special it it.

On Friday Al-Hussein's sister read us "The day the Crayons Came Home". We had a good laugh

 MEASUREMENT FUN (Math):

Last week we learned about perimeter and how to measure the perimeter of different shapes (2D and 3D) through lots of different fun, hands-on activities. Students also did a penny flick activity in the hallway and in class where they had to flick a penny to measure how far it can go. They had a lot of fun, Alhamdulliah!

We also had fun playing measurement games!
