Yesterday for TWINS day, Fae came up with an interesting activity!Twins worked together to make twin crafts and they wrote about it :) Thank you, Fae :)
Math: Students worked independently to solve word problems about growing patterns in their math journals.
They completed an exit slip about patterns where they wrote some of the things they learned about repeating and growing patterns.
Today we started a new unit in math Number Sense and Numeration. We made a mind map as a class about numbers where students took turns to say how we
use numbers in real life and where they are found. After that students worked in groups to write everything they know about numbers on chart paper (addition, subtraction, multiplication, money, time...etc) We also completed pages 12 and 13 in our math books where each student made his own mind map about numbers, completed numbers on number lines, and circled numbers to show a growing pattern.
Science: We watched a video about the characteristics of insects, we read about insects, and students completed a worksheet where they completed sentences using a word bank.
Today we learned about an insect's body parts, students labeled an insect and wrote examples of some insects they know. Then we labeled an insect as a class.
Social Studies: This week we learned the 5 oceans (Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic, Indian, Southern), and we watched a video where we got to learn some interesting facts about each ocean. Students also completed a worksheet where they labeled the oceans and coloured the map.
