Today we had a lovely day alhamdulilah!
Science: We watched a video about the different types of birds and some of their characteristics. We learned about the body parts of a bird and students completed a worksheet where they labeled a bird and gave examples of different birds.
Math: Students completed page 69 in their Math books where they drew 6 coins that add up to 90 cents.
Language: We made a proper noun pizza craft. Students gave examples of proper nouns and we talked about the difference between a proper noun and a common noun.
Library: We went to the library with 2B and Tr. Nancy started explaining the "Do" portion of the project.
Gym: We played Simon says and Zap!
Islamic Studies: We started our new unit, I am a Muslim, I am Honest! We learned about what it means to be honest and how the Prophet (SAW) was honest and trustworthy.
Today we sang our diversity song for assembly and masha'Allah the students did a great job!
Reminders:
- Tomorrow is spirit day! It's Mix and Match day. Students will wear clothes that don't match and bring a toonie, so that we can buy matching clothes for those in need.
- Make sure your child has his/her library book and KWL chart and question sheet tomorrow.
- Your child should keep his/her spelling book at home until Monday to practice for the spelling quiz (revision on lessons 1 to 5)
